Maputo is an outstanding fishing area. Ideal times for fishing are from January to the start of April, when these waters warm up with the currents that are coming from the Mozambican Channel, bringing along several species of fish:

  • Black Marlin
  • Blue Marlin
  • Stripped Marlin
  • Sailfish
  • Shortbill Spearfish
  • Dorados
  • Yellow Fin Tuna
  • Serra Fish
  • Barracuda

Along with these species, it is possible to find all year round (jigging and live bait), Amberjacks, Greenjob Fish, Xaréus, Vermelhões and much more.
